Warmer weather is on the way, which means that farmers market trips and picnic meet-ups are closer than you think. On top of all the obvious reasons to love summer, I always associate the season with delicious and fresh in-season fruit. But there’s no getting around the fact that those fresh-picked, juicy strawberries and raspberries have a super-short shelf life once you bring them home.

That’s why I can’t wait to get to Aldi to get my hands on the grocery chain’s berry and produce containers, which promise to make my beloved fruit last even longer without spoiling.

Sold by the Crofton brand, Aldi’s Berry or Produce Keeper 2-packs are designed to keep produce fresh longer, thanks to adjustable vents (which control airflow) and colander base (which helps drain excess water and juice). They’re sold in a two-pack, with one Berry Keeper measuring 7.56 x 5.1 x 2.8 inches and one Produce Keeper measuring 10.7 x 7.1 x 3.6 inches. They’re a great small-space storage solution and the ingenious design means you won’t have to worry about cleaning your fridge several times a week.

Target shoppers love the PrepWorks containers, with one reviewer calling them the “best thing ever” and adding that they “loved this container” so much that they “had to get them in all sizes!”

Another reviewer said that the containers work beyond just keeping berries fresh. “They keep the vegetables and fruits fresh for days without turning or becoming limp.”

The 3-quart containers got the same glowing reviews, with one reviewer writing, “I originally bought the entire set, I was so impressed, I came back to buy two more 3-quart containers. I finally have a way to keep my fruits and veggies fresh. I’m very happy, it was ridiculous how much produce was being wasted before I bought these. I am keeping veggies for 3-4 weeks now and some things like celery last even longer. I have since ordered these for two sisters and a niece, that’s how well they work.”
